My 2010 F350 shudders when turning right. From what I read it could be the auto locking hubs not dis-engaging or sticking in the locked position. Tutorials show it's pretty easy to pull the auto locking Hub out taking out the three screws holding it in place. My questions is what type of grease do I need to apply to the auto locking hub once I have them out and determine that is what the issue is?
Why not check to see if it is locked first? If it is unlocked, you should be able to turn the shaft to the hub since it would be disengaged. You may still want to troubleshoot the vacuum system to determine if it is vacuum or mechanical causing the problem.
The vacuum pump and the celinoid were recently changed. The auto lock works fine when locking them in. When you turn it off the right side doesn't seem to want to disengage.
Whenever recent work was done and then something doesn't work, I immediately go back to what I worked on last, before assuming something else is causing the problem.
With the hubs in auto, put it in 4hi, drive maybe 10 feet straight forward, then put it in 2wd, and drive in reverse 10 feet. Then drive forward and do a turn snd see if you still feel the shudder.

only juddering you get with hubs,is if stuck in on bitumen,or the wheel lock to lock is too great.most now are non adjustable, used to have a bolt you could wind in to get better turn circle.good in 2wd,not good in 4wd.
People he only asked what is the proper grease to lube the units. I have also removed and cleaned my auto locks, and need the EXACT SAME ANSEWER. what is the correct lube for the autolockers.

i've never lubed the auto lockers in either of my trucks. If i did, i would just use the same grease i use on all of my equipment - the basic red grease off the shelf. Nothing special.
From my owners manual, wheel bearing grease, I'm assuming high temp, Ford PN XG-11 / SPEC. WSS-M1C267-A1 or equivalent, recommend using a small acid brush, coat lightly, ps and do the other side to. Regards
