Do you have any idea how much money he makes off each episode just doing the show? I don't, but I've been to his shop and there's no shortage of funds that I could see.

The show, like everything else on History Channel, is fake and very scripted.

However, it seems like the encounters he makes when talking to car owners about their cars on the road seems real to me.

The fact that they sound distant when Danny first asks them about their car means that they're probably not wearing mics. If their voice sounded loud and clear from a long distance, they were wearing a mic, meaning the camera guys talked to them beforehand, and asked them to wear the mic before Danny 'introduced' himself.

They also act sort of confused, looking directly at the camera and just barely acknowledging Danny when he's talking to them.

If anyone watches Pawn Stars, it is 100% fake. The Pawn Shop you see inside is actually a set; the real shop usually has lines and crowds around the block, and is filled with Pawn Stars merchandise instead of what you see on the show. None of the stars (except Rick) actually work there, and he sits in his back office all day, refusing to talk to or see tourists.

TV isn't fake! Come on guys. Of course all the shows are "fake".If they only showed real events of them buying/selling and working on cars without the made up stories and added drama,they wouldn't be watched by the masses but only a small bunch of us car guys.They wouldn't bring in such massive revenue like they do and they wouldn't last more than a season.

This reality kick has got too many forgetting that it's still just well scripted tv for our entertainment.Watch the shows without taking them too seriously and you'll enjoy them as intended.Don't focus on the over the top added drama too much.Watch with a good healthy dose of sense of humor.
I love counting cars! Awesome show.Just like everything on TV,you can't take it too seriously."Reality TV" shows are not documentaries even if they are based on many part truths and pretend to be real.
