'98 E-SuperDuty v10 to '01 F-350 SuperDuty Engine Swap?
Hi all,
I need some advice. I am not any kind of a motor-head, so please go easy on me with the jargon, too.
I have an '01 F-350 SuperDuty 4 door 4x4 with 220K+ miles on the V8 gas engine and automatic transmission. The engine is ...going, the transmission just started a minor drip. If I rebuild them then they will need to come out anyway, so I thought it might be a time for a swap.
I have a '98 (manufacture date 12/97) E-SuperDuty (30 foot RV, camper portion is toast) with a V10 and Manual transmission, approx 72K miles, no leaks, seems strong and steady.
Can I swap the '98 V10 (and hopefully transmission) into the '01 F-350? If so, would I need new motor and transmission mounts? What about radiator/shroud/fan? I presume that I would need to pull the whole wiring harness and the computer for the V10. Would the exhaust manifolds on the V10 work in the F-350, or would I need a new set?
Thanks in advance!
