Took my truck into the dealer and had them enable the DPF%. Took all of 5 minutes and was warranty so it didnt cost me a dime. Next step is to get the Forscan tool and change things myself.

 

Can this be done the a Lariat?

 

As long as you have the 8 inch dash screen then yes.

I offered the pics to my dealer but they said their tech didn't need them. I guess this is pretty common now and they've been doing it on a lot of them.

 

Dealer told me they tried today and could not get it to work I dont know if its a line of bull or not i had the directions as well hand written down on a sheet of paper.

 

This really is something that should be on from the factory...

You can also do it with Forescan. Takes about the same amount of time and keystrokes. easy-peasy.

 

Forscan what is it a tool or something on your phone.

 

It's a windows based app that interfaces with an OBD module. There's a sticky thread here, I believe, that has all the details. You use it to make all kinds of customizations on our rigs.

I had mine done in Dec 2016, on my new then 2017, it was all new for the techs but when I showed them the IDS screen shots he did no problem. Since then Forscan for me. The 2016 and previous actually had this screen from factory enabled. Tech was surprised it wasn’t already in there.

 

Went to the local ford Dealer and asked to have My DPF turned on. Service Manager talked to me and knew exactly what i was asking. No charge and asked if I bought it here, no i said because you didnt have any xlt in blue jeans. there were only 2 in the tri state area at the time. Anyway he said if you come in for some oil changes it would be nice so he is not charging me for this. He also said he will do a fresh regen at the time so it may take 1 hour to complete. Nice to talk to people that know when im asking . thanks for your help here Jeff

 

Just got back from Local Ford dealer, They turned on the DPF screen did a manual regen and I now have them all enabled. They even printed out the ford instructions on how to do a manual regen and when etc. TSB Drive to clean message ( OCR ) They hooked me up and no charge. I guess I will be supporting them for needed supplies and such. thanks for all the help here. Jeff
