Oil pan replacement fail and Power Steering Pump Pulley

Last weekend while attempting to change the oil pan I failed miserably and turned my straight six into a slant six. In the process I took out my PS pump.
To make matters worse, my friend Mongo'd the pulley off the PS pump. He said it broke his puller tool!

So, my search at various stores yields nothing. Does anyone know of a Dorman part number or some generic pulley that can be had off the shelf that will work? My replacement pump is a Cardone.

Ford part no. E0TC-3D673-HA

Thanks.

Mick

Does the store sell a rebuilt pump with the pulley? I think I would try to get a complete rebuilt setup, if he mangled the pulley he probably damaged the pump. If you use a regular puller or put any type of thrust load on the pump shaft, it ruins the pump inside.

Yes, what Franklin said. There is a specific puller for doing this job. I doubt the average parts store will have a pump with the pulley on it.

Franklin,

The old pump was broke when I jacked the motor from its mounts. The replacement doesn't have a pulley. I ordered a used pulley off ePay so thats taken care of.

Is there anything special about installing the pulley on the new pump? I don't want to destroy any more parts.

Thanks.

Go back to the store where you bought the pump and 'rent' the proper tool to remove and reinstall the pulley.
Get them to *show you* how to use it (with the clam shells and the ring) because obviously your friend doesn't know wth he is doing.

Yes, get the proper tool. It takes it off and puts it on. Normal parts stores will charge your card to take the tool home and then reimburse you when you return it. Read the directions carefully if you have never used one before.

You need to bolt the pump to the back side of the bracket and install the pulley from the front. (trapping the bracket)

So there's really no way to sell the pump with the pulley already installed.
