Grumman Olsen Kurbmaster help

Hoping to get several answers regarding my 65 Grumman on a Ford chassis and drivetrain.
The VIN is P35AL754434. Unfortunately, the tag is shot other than a Grumman serial number. I know it has a 240ci that I've just rebuilt and added all the fixings from Clifford Performance to. It looks like it has a Dana 70 and it has a 3 speed manual gearbox. I assumed it was a F350 but it has a solid front axle and that doesn't seem to fit.

P35 = P350 (P Series Parcel Delivery).

A = 240 1V I-6. (1965: J is the engine code for the 240 I-6).

L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant.

754434 = 1966, edit: assembled October 1965.

P350 could have either a Dana 60 or 70. 1953/66 P350's have 6 lug wheels on a 7.25" bolt circle.

See pic: Ford sold the P Series as a rolling chassis, with front sheet metal, doors (slide back/forth) and dash, the body was installed by aftermarket body makers.

Ford also sold the P Series as a rolling chassis only to RV manufacturers, so a Class A Motorhome body could be installed.

Thanks so much. The truck is titled as a 65 so very interesting to hear that sequentially, it's actually a 66. The truck is an 8 lug and everything there looks original, in fact, other than some added delivery goodies, the van is all original.
I am a little confused regarding the A 240 and J 240 info you wrote.
Do you know what trans would have come with it? Is there a front axle blow up you have? Very interested in converting to disc brakes.

1965 & 1966: Besides the last 6 digits of the VIN that decode to the year, the VIN's engine code is another way to ID the year.

Plus, your truck was probably assembled in 1965 and back then, some states registered vehicles by the year they were first sold, not by their model year.

1966 serial number range: 732,000-914,001. 732,000 would have been assembled in late August 1965.

Unfortunately, I don't have the parts catalog handy that decodes to the actual month, because I goofed, packed it and stored it along with 50+ other boxes of books.

Edit: Thanks to Chad, month your truck was assembled added to post #2.

1965 = The VIN engine code for the 240 I-6 = J // 1966 = The VIN engine code for the 240 I-6: A

The original trans is either the Warner T-87 H/D 3 speed manual or Warner T-89 M/D 3 speed manual.

Where in CA are you located?

There are no disc brake parts that can be swapped from any other year Ford truck to convert the P Series to disc brakes.

I used to work on these trucks back in the 80's I think the oldest was 55 all the way to the mid eightys. Gruman Olson bodys with ford running gear and converting the 300 engines to diesel engines. Some white ford ,cummins, and even Isuzu. Also ran 223 and 240 gas engines. I think back now all the nos boxes of parts they had just blows me away.
I worked on the parcel deliveries (bread trucks) Show me a pic of that bad boy!

Ok. I'll check for a number on the engine.

Thanks for all the great info.

I'm in Yorba Linda.

Bummer about the brakes. I guess a complete front end swap at some point.

The day I brought her home. She spent 45 years as a uniform delivery service van then 5 years doing flea markets and swap meets. All 50 years in Yucaipa, CA.

Right before we started replacing the windshield wiper motors and components.

After the engine was rebuilt and the Clifford Performance parts went on.

Blue Oval Truck Parts is located in an industrial area south of the 91 Freeway, in NE Anaheim.

While it's not too close, Engler Brothers Auto Parts is located on Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica. This is the best auto parts store for older vehicles.

The show is staged by Pickups Limited, located in Orange County. The prez of this club is an FTE member and lives in Rowland Heights. Several weeks before the show, ads will appear on FTE

I have a 1965 ford Grumman that I am looking to restore. Any information you can give me about your build especially where you were able to get parts would be a HUGE help.
