Pinion Angle

I have seen lots of articles on Pinion Angles but always up and down, never side to side. When you are working with an engine/transmission that are installed center to center from front of engine to tailshaft of transmission and connecting to a rear axel with an off set differential, is the side to side pinion angle just as critical as the up and down pinion angle?

The pinion and crank must be parallel in both planes. Best illustration I could find:

Thanks 85, I had a mental disconnect for some reason and just did not make the connection both worked the same. After a couple posts, the light came on. What can I say? Really dont understand how I clearly saw it one way but not the other?
