wants to die in reverse only when warm

I have a 1995 powerstroke that has had the tranny with a new converter replaced in 97. The trouble I am having is when hot it wants to die in reverse. It idles great when hot but it will want to pull down in reverse and if I am at a light and I put it into low sometimes it will pull down then as well. Typical Ford funky shifting revs in first when hot let off and it shifts. FLuid is pink and does not smell burnt, and the level is good hot. Bad IAC???Where is that thing??? Just put a new TRS and wiring Thanks Terry

IAC? Idle Air Control? Not on a diesel.

Your problem is probably low pressure in the trans. If you get a 0-350 PSI gauge and install it in the test port on the driver's side of the trans we can diagnose this.

It could also be a loose transmission internal filter. Test what Mark asked, then, if you feel like it, lower the transmission pan and check that the filter isn't falling or already fell.

Had similar issues with my 95 after changing fluid and filter. The filter fell out of place.i ended up buying the little clip to hold the filter in and never had an issue again.

Not to hijack...Sorry..

I've been looking for this "clip" for the transmission filter. Can you provide a link for it?

Thanks so much!

I made one out of a little aluminum strip, worked perfectly. Just look in here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post13059337 It's pictured right after the trans pan maintenance pictures (a little before you hit the post's half point).
