its not rust free, it just doesn't have any holes.

Nice tho, could be a fun project.

Love seeing another manual transmission, do you prefer that or was that just what was available?

Only rust I'd a bit of surface on the door.

I've been looking for a truck. Reg cab 2wd manual were the main things I was after. Was looking at 50/60's fords/mercs. But so much body work or not running.

No body work other then paint pretty much, running driving and shot box made me jump on this one

Figure I should make this like a build thread. Will update more as I go.

Sofar
- fixed seized tailgate latch and replaced broken handle.
- neew clutch pedal bushing and re installed clutch safety switch.
- replaced drivers door hinges.
- installed muffler and tail pipe. ( still need hangers yet.)
- picked up the new tires
-found a cab visor locally

Still need to
- install tires on rims
- replace shocks
- replace e-brake cables
- replace rear wheel cylinders
- take for a windshield
- get an inspection

Here's the visor and tires

Is it easy to do the clutch safety switch? I have the same truck but a 90 4WD. I have to push down my clutch REALLY HARD to start the thing. It's very annoying.

Look up under the dash and wiggle the clutch linkage. You'll see where it goes through the fire wall there should be a plastic bushing on the pin where the rod connects. If that bushing is missing that will cause issues. Or of the pin that it clips on is worn out it won't let it push the rod far enough to engage the switch

Well finished the exhaust hangers today so that's all done.
Finished peeling the tint off the front windows.
Dug out the aluminium wheels so I can bring them to work and clean them up tomorrow and hopefully get the tires mounted this weekend.

Dug out the old wheels last night and brought them to work to wash them.

Coated good with paint stripper and cleaned up some of the rough spots. Looks much better already just need to give a wet sand to the spots I cleaned up and polish them up nice.

Nice ride you got yourself there.
I am interested in what exhaust setup you went with, thinking of changing mine, is that a kit you bought for it? if so what brand?
Too bad you aren't in Australia, Id offer to buy that wheel trim off of you, I got one missing from my truck.

It's a flopro muffler that was on a parts truck next door lol. Mounted it and bought the 3" long elbow to use for a tailpipe.

New tires mounted. Can't wait to get these on the truck. Still have some wet sanding and polishing to do on them first.

Finished the e-brake cables and wheel cylinders.
All 4 shocks changed.

Threw the old wheels back on it to move it outside to give me more room to work on the aluminium wheels.

All thats left for inspection is a windshield and out the wheels/tires on the truck. And snow melting so I can get it out of my driveway lol.

Wheels all done. 2 center caps cleaned up and attatched. Waiting for 2 more in the mail. Hoping to have the inspection done in a couple weeks then have it on the road. After the mud dries up in the drive way that is.... Might get a start prepping the body for a coat of paint.
