FX4 Wheel Lugnuts

Just picked up a set of used 18" FX4 rims for my truck. Came from a 2012 FX4. My truck came with the 18" 7-spoke chromed out factory wheels. Upon mounting I found that the hub on the FX4 rims is much shallower, so the factory lug nuts stick waaay out. On the 7-spoke rims the lugnuts were actually recessed inside the hweel. Is this how the FX4s came from the factory?

I checked with the owner I bought them from. His truck had the same lugnuts as mine, so it looks like this was factory?

Has anyone found a shorter lugnut? The studs don't stick out that much so a short nut could work?

Thanks

In spite I think the trucks looks MUCH better with the FX4's. Now it just needs a level...

looks good, i wouldnt even worry about it. lug nuts for these things are expensive and they are junk, it would be nice if we could get some solid aluminum lugs that wont split to peices

Truck looks great

I have the same factory wheels on my STX and the lugnuts are the exact same as what you have there. Might just look odd compared to before.

I'll also note to be careful using an impact to take off the lugs, I've had several of the chrome caps crack when rotating tires. It's just a cap so it doesn't cause any issues when tightening but still annoying.

Thanks guys. I'll just leave as is.

Didnt know about the chrome caps on the lugs, I'll definitely keep an eye on them. All the lugnuts looked in good shape. Did them the old fashioned way as I don't have an impact, yet.

napa sells one piece lug nuts- no chrome cap. they are not shiny chrome however do look good. i just replaced the lugz on my 2013 when i did pads and rotors at 96K because factory lugz were junk from having tires rotated. i had two that just spun. i had to cut cover off. and then pound socket on and remove.

i believe they were around 2.55 each. just under 70.00 with tax. they listed the price as 3.65 each. i about fell over.
