Pics of new rig!
New (to me) 2016 F250 6.2 4x4 crew/short w/3.73
-2016 Palomino HS650
-2012 Skeeter ZX20
Towed from Norfolk, VA to Smith Mountain Lake in Roanoke, VA roughly 250 miles each way. I had zero issues towing in the mountains/hills and was able to set cruise control for almost the whole trip. Going up a decent hill trans would drop two gears seamlessly and truck right along around 2500 rpms... Going up a steep incline trans would drop 3 gears and the most i would see was 4k rpms but still kept up speed. Burned about 27.5 gallons of fuel each way so roughly 9mpg even though the instrument cluster says i averaged over 13. Overall I am very happy with the truck's capabilities!

I'm another 6.2 guy with 3.73 gears. If more people with our combo spoke up about how capable they are, this internet legend of "must have" 4.30 gears would die down somewhat.
You should also try Manual Mode on your trans. Better than sliced bread. Set your cruise on the speed you want, manually select the gear you want, and you only need downshift if the cruise won't hold the speed in your current gear. Try this and you'll be surprised how it will pull hills in higher (taller) gears. Seems to me in Auto Mode, at least my truck, downshifts earlier than it needs to, and will downshift much too early out of 3rd and into 2nd.
Nice looking rig. Sounds like you had a good trip, how were they biting?

I would love to say the fish were biting like crazy! however that lake is always more than unkind to me every time I go. Maybe one day I will figure that place out?
