Firewall hardware

Aside from the heater core and battery tray bolts I'm confused on why the other bolts are here. As you can see there are several that seem to serve no purpose. I am going to weld them closed unless they are needed. Help please.

Wow... I Have never seen so many bolts running through a firewall!

jsek you seen that done before too,as rusty 57 said could have been shot with a shot gun,might have been used for target practice ,

I think it was hillbilly air conditioning turned of for winter.
