Help Replacing Rear Gas Tank 1996 F250 Dual Tank System
Hello, I am a brand new member, hoping someone can help. I am replacing the rear, steel, 18 gallon gas tank on my 1996 F250 with the dual tank fuel system. On the center of the gas tank, there is a black rubber tank vapor vent seal. On it is stamped part # E8UA-9B076-AA. I can not seem to find this part number anywhere. I ordered what I thought might be the replacement part, # F6 TZ-9B076-AA, and it is about an inch too small.
My make/model is F250 XL 351 Motor, 5.8 L, with the dual tank system. The rear tank is the steel 18.2 gallon tank (Spectra part # F1G).
Does anyone know where I can get this seal? Has the original part # changed to a new # (and if so, what is the new number?) Apparently this dual tank system is confusing, I have tried online research (including this forum), and the ford parts catalog has no trace of this #. I've called parts stores, including a specialty restoration store (who told me I only have to go by the part base/middle numbers, which obviously is incorrect) and I cannot seem to find anything.
This is my first post to any forum, really, so I hope this is in the right place. Any help would be appreciated - thank you!

Welcome to the forum! If possible I would recommend just reusing the vapor seal currently on there unless it is terribly damaged. As far as changing the tank out, make sure you have a ford fuel line disconnect tool. They are like $7 at auto part stores and pretty much essential for removing the fuel lines from the rear fuel pump. Also you will possibly have to remove part of exhaust, it's a huge pain but it might get in the way when your dropping the tank. I changed the rear pump on my 93 f350 460. I was able to disconnect 2 hangers and use a strap to pull the pipe away from the truck. I also have an aftermarket exhaust system so it may be different for you. The tank fits very tight in there but if you move it around and try pulling it out different ways you will eventually get it. Make sure you spray the bolts down good before trying to remove them. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

That particular grommet looks to be strictly for 5.8Ls in the trucks (and some various other fords).
The number you pulled off the old part is an engineering part # and crosses to a E8UZ-9B076-A, it lists for 10.44$ from Ford.
This eBay ad has a good photo that shows the engineering # you provided, and they have two in stock : link
If you need the part right now from a local dealer, try Partsvoice. Just copy - paste your good part #, input your ZIP code and it should provide you with a dealer closest with the part in stock.
