I wouldn't worry about the E-Locker, the only time I used it on my F150's was just to make sure it worked.

Thank you for the information on the E-locker.

They do have another XLT with the Sport and FX4 package, but it's another $750 and it's red (which is not my favorite color).

The XLT Sport I am looking at is the magnetic metallic, which I am a big fan of...

I still have until tomorrow morning to decide, as I have signed anything yet. Mainly, I am just trying to weigh out whether or not the e-locker is worth the color change and additional $$.

I didn't realize there was a 164" wheelbase configuration. Looking through the guide, it appears it is for the SuperCab with the 8' box?

Magnetic Metallic is a nice color it was on my short list. I ended up with Ingot Silver.

5.0 just fine

If your looking at the 5.0 you wont be disappointed. Went from an 02 with 5.4 to 2011 XLT crew 5.0 4x4, 3.55 gear. No issues in over 50k miles. The power difference from my older 5.4 is dramatic. I also tow a 30 TT with absolutley no issues not that it matters to you. I don't believe the 2016 has the aluminum bed. Think it is 2017 don't quote me though. Anyway not pulling anything and with 2 inch higher AT tires I see 19 mpg regularly on highway. 12-13 range in Wa state pulling my trailer. It gets the job done and is amazing comfortable. Can't go wrong.

2015 and up F150s all have an aluminum body, to include the bed. The only major steel part is the firewall.

Good news...I went back and was reviewing the .pdf of the window sticker of the truck I am looking to purchase and it shows the following:

3.31 Electronic Lock RR Axle
420.00

Looks like it has the e-locker and it was a $420 option. I didn't realize this could be purchased outside of the FX4 package? If so, I am really happy to see this...

Well if you get in a real slipper situation, you will be glad you have that locking differential. I have an FX4 but that differential has payed for itself a couple of times. you can't always count on the traction control. As too much wheel spin will cause the engine to loose power.

I've never needed the eLocker on my F150's. We get slippery situations here all the time. We have a couple big snows each year & many days of raining ice.
We went to a sporting event and they had us parking on the grass. It was already soft and wet but okay. While at the game it rained a lot. In 2WD I couldn't move an inch. In 4WD I was pulling cars up the ridge to the road. My current F150 has a standard 3:55 rear end.

So what truck did you buy?

Picked up the truck yesterday. After a lot of research and a couple of test drives, I decided to go with the 5.0L V8. I was actually quite surprised with the power and acceleration.

I thought going from a 6.7L to this, I would be disappointed, but I am actually pleasantly surprised. The options and interior are superb. Although I spent more than I really wanted, this has pretty much everything I was looking for. Also, it handles much differently than my F-250 did...

I added the mud flaps and ordered a OEM bed mat. I need to get the bed sprayed and I could use suggestions on some sort of a bed cover? I would like to be able to remove the cover though, so I can have full access to the bed.

Thank you for all of the suggestions and recommendations, I greatly appreciate it. They were all very helpful in making the purchase.

Looks nice! I like that color, except that my wife's truck is that color, and I didn't want a twin. So mine is Ingot Silver (Silver Ingot?)...

Very Nice,
The 5.0l is a great power plant, now the modding begins!
I've been looking at a retrax pro, still haven't purchased anything yet though.
