Finally!! back in a EX but have ? 10" lift

Been without an Ex for a few years. Just bought a 2000 with 10" BDS lift. Anyone know for sure what size tires I can run. Debating skinny (13.5) vs wide (15.5+) Last one took 8" to run 35X15 on a 16X12 rim and still had to have 2" spacers in the bumper to keep from rubbin. Also, I have noticed on ebay that aftermarket square mirrors (08 style) can be had for less than 150 for the pair. Are they worth getting?

No, step away from ebay: try 1A auto instead.

10" lift, you could run 40's if you have the gearing

With mirrors you get what you pay for. The plastic is about the same but the mirrors themselves are crap. Lots of distortion

Heck, with 10" of lift, keep the DRW and add rear fenders. Gears inside the pumpkins will need to match if you want to use 4x4 successfully.

What motor do you have and what gears are you thinking that you will be needing with the new giant tires?
I was quoted $2000-ish for changing both front and rear gears with bearing kits from my factory 3.73 to new 4.88s. But then I got an even better deal on a set of axles already setup and broken in with 4.88s for $1200. In the end it might work out to be a better deal to just have your current gears swapped out rather than messing around with the heavier F-450/550 axles to make them work.

if you have the parts then it's just a swap, if you have to purchase the parts then just sourcing the correct complete axle will likely be less expensive and involved. $800 is not any great deal that makes it worth the hassle. You should be able to find the correct srw axle for the same cost

4.30 is the only direct swap I can find. If you have a source for 4.88/5.38 in SRW, please share....

For a complete axle swap the 4.3 is your option.
Gear change if you want a different ratio

You can run 40" tires with 10" lift.
I also installed 4:56 gears with stock axles .

I bought towing mirrors from ebay for my 2000 Ex....I have zero distortion, heat function works as does motor function to adjust mirror. I have had them for 3+ years and only reason I had to replace one was my wife decided it was a good idea to sideswipe a garbage can at speed!
