Tall & Skinny Tires

What is the tallest tire commonly available in a narrow width like the 235-85 -16 that I currently have? I would like a taller tire that is not very wide.

Your 235/85R16s are about 32" tall, and are generally considered to be the equal of a 7.50-16" bias ply. A taller tire that is almost as narrow is an 8R19.5" at about 33.5" tall. The 8R19.5" will be taller than the comparable 225/70R19.5" metric low profile size. There are several traction tread tires that are pretty nice looking too. A seller like Rickson Tire has package deals. Stu

If you are not willing to change wheel size, the 255/85/16 is likely it. I ran them years ago, I never had any troubles. In fact, I had this size in Dunlop Mud Rovers and they were my favorite mud tires back then.

34-9.50 Swampers they ride like doo on the highway, but are like dirt bike tires off road. Point and they go.
