Currently I have a 14 XL extended cab with the not so comfortable vinyl seats.

I came across a set of brand new OEM front cloth seats from a 16 that match my configuration, no power, and have side airbags.

Now, will I have any issue in swapping seats with the ones from a newer model given the presence of airbags, I imagine it is plug and play?

I just want to be sure before making a 4 hour drive and spending my whole Saturday.

If the electrical connections are the same I don't believe your truck will recognize the the difference seats. My only question would be if the new seats came from another super cab or not.

 

Apparently there is a slight difference in the airbag module for Ext cab trucks.

Ford told me that 2/22/10 to 2/7/16 was the same airbag group, but couldn't get any more specific.

I think I'm just going to order the OEM cloth seat covers and swap it out on my existing seats. I'd rather gamble with 400.00 vs 1,000.00
