Have you tried reaching in with a couple of thin screwdrivers and trying to stretch that switch spring out a bit. The extra tension might be all you need for the contact to work good.

Capital Idea. Thanks allero. No I haven't tried that yet but will and I'll keep this post updated. Currently putting in a set of lower ball joints. After that's done (hopefully later today), I'll get back to the switch.

The solution to getting the dash brake light to come on when the parking brake pedal was depressed was to use a file to remove the oxidation buildup on the contacts.
I suspected with talking with a few mechanics that switches that aren't used, like with the parking brake over time don't work consistently when used again. After using electrical contact cleaner for a few days, progress (meaning manual intervention) was not happening. Somehow without jiggling the switch manually with your finger, contact was not being made, hence the p-brake dash light was not coming on when the pedal was depressed. A more drastic approach was needed. I used a small file (magneto point file) and sanded the underside and probably the barrel of the switch. Space is limited as to what you can accurately see and get to. After cleaning with a point file, the switch started to work correctly.

Sure beats having to rip out the parking brake pedal assembly.
