DROPPING SPARE...HELP..rusted in place
So i decided today to lower the spare tire on my 2004 f350...well i seem to be too late as it is rusted in place...the lowering device seems froze up and the stupid "keyed tool" does not grip enough to lower it. it is a shaped tool like a wheel lug nut lock not a screwdriver like end that will get positive engagement and allow maximum torque to be delivered.
any advice on getting this spare down?
essentially i have no spare should i ever need one.
and of course it is hidden by the spare tire on the bottom and the bed on the top and crossmembers and frame rails.
need advice shy of cutting the cross shaped piece that holds the tire up...but that may be my only choice.

Hey SOLOLUCKY. I'm a new guy to the forums but I do have an idea. Lots of PB blaster, a hammer drill, long extension, and a socket that will fit. Soak that bad boy down and let it sit for 15 minutes or so. Could try an impact too but it may strip something out. Beating it with a mallet may break stuff loose.

You can reach up there and with a small screwdriver "pop: the keyed end off. You then stick the end of your lowering rod in there without the "key". Hopefully this will lower it? I do a lot of hunting waaaayyy back so I drop mine and lube it a couple times a year to ensure it will work when I need it.
