Moon roof
#2
I had one on my F150, then didn't have one on my 2014 F250. I didn't miss it. That said, I have it on my 2017 and I do like it. Not having it wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I've enjoyed it so far. I was worried about the leaks after hearing stories from some, but I've been through the wash 4 or 5 times now without issues and I never had issues on my F150. I think if it's going to leak, it's going to leak because it wasn't sealed/installed correctly, and that should show up from day 1 and not at a later time.

In my time growing up with a mechanic for a dad it seemed like 80% of the issue was drain tube related with any 2000+ moon roof. They seal well and are easily adjustable if they aren't sealing right. The drain tubes are a PITA if they start leaking. GM always used one tube in another tube design by the kick panels that was notorious for separating after hear/cool cycles. No clamp on it. I'm pretty sure they fixed that issue though around 2006+.

Here in the PNW, sunroofs are a pain, never seen one that didn't develop a leak eventually. The green stuff that grows on your truck in winter, the pollen and plain old dust works to plug the lines. I take a weed whacker line with a square cross section and insert it into the drain tube carefully working it all the way down. I then snip off the end and put it into a cordless drill and run it forward and reverse. Remove the line, flush with water. I then repeat the process once or twice more until the line runs freely.

I have had numerous vehicles with sunroofs. For me, at first i was thinking I didn't want one. Last F350 had one, almost 13 years and not one leak. Also, not once did I have to clean drain tubes. It's pretty cool, really, winter hear so mine has not been opened a lot yet, but it's nice even to open the sunshade and let in the moonlight. Worst case it stays closed.
