Well off the top of my head... no. BUT I do rember doing it on a 90 2.9 when I changed heads for my neighbor. I used a Chiltons and it WASNT EASY. Basicaly you have to do the procedure 3 times and you are better off changing the cam, cam berings (trust me), lifters and the valves. Rember to change the head bolts (torque-to-yeald). My neighbor had a rebuild from another neighbor that didnt change the berings or the bolts and now he had a cracked head and when it warms up his oil pressure drops to about 10 to 20 lbs. My Hanes Manual suggests that the valve lash is not adjustable on the 2.9 . I recommend that you read through a manual before you proceed there is a lot of useful information in it that could save you another tear down .
