MAF, ECU, harness questions 95 5.8 major upgrade plans

So a friend of mine is hooking me up on the cheap with some parts from his 351 in his mustang. He's selling me ported heads, comp camshaft, MAF tuned for #30 injectors, chrome valve covers and fuel rails. In addition, I plan to get the Edelbrock truck performer manifold set, and 61mm tb's, shorty headers WITH all smog fittings (I found them for $350 if you're looking, I can link)..

Currently, I have MSD cap, rotor, Moroso 40 ohm wires, double platinum plugs, MSD coil, 3inch cherry bomb open dump, poly sway bar bushings, auxiliary overload springs and cone air filter. With this upgrade I plan on finishing out my 3" exhaust

I am subject to emissions testing, and that includes equipment, so there will be no deletion of any emissions components..

-First off, from what I've been reading, I can use a 5.0 harness and computer to convert to MAF?
-Is the 5.0 harness compatible with the lightning ECU?
-Also, from what I've read, I have a roller cam? It looks like the cam my friend is selling me is flat tappet, so if the heads and block from donor moor aren't decked, can I use stock pushrods from a 92 or 93 5.8?
-I will be running 30# injectors. The MAF is tuned for #30, and given the parts I will be upgrading, will I still need to custom tune to pass emissions? I am familiar with efi and driveability, however I am not necessarily familiar with FORD ecu nomenclature so please explain if using it...
-And lastly, has anyone else run this setup? what kind of power should I make?

In addition I will be adding 190 lph fuel pumps. On that note, can a Bronco gas tank be used as the rear tank?

Exactly what cam are you getting?
What ported heads are those? Stock E7TEs?
Does your truck have an auto trans? If so you cannot use a Mustang PCM.

The cam will determine if the motor can be tuned well enough to pass emissions. The fact that you are getting these parts off a Mustang guy suggest the cam is probably too radical to pass emissions.

35-250-4 is the Comp Cams part number. From what he told me, he would have passed emissions if he had cats. My truck has the ZF 5 speed. Stock ported heads

After looking it up I would not recommend using that cam, was your friend putting it into an EFI motor? I really don't see how it would pass emissions and even if it did it's not at all suitable to and engine with stock heads or for truck applications. Did you see where they recommend a 2800rpm stall converter?
Even with ported head this motor won't make much more than 300hp at maybe 5000rpm so you don't need that much cam, the Comp 35-320-8 would suit better and it's a roller. That also means you don't need 30lb injectors either but if you can get them for a good price they can be utilized.
To convert to MAF you need a donor harness to pull the injector and MAF wiring from.. preferably from a truck. Then you need to add this to the existing wiring in your truck and find a MAF PCM to use. With a manual trans you can use an '89-94 Mustang PCM but it's not a direct plug-in... some pins in the truck connector have to be moved to match the PCM.

I'll avoid the cam.. Definitely want to stick to 30# injectors for now, can be found on ebay cheap. As for the MAF harness, they used maf in 5.0 trucks, can't I just use the whole harness? I'm not afraid of splicing in but I feel like it would be far easier. What about a Lightning PCM and harness?

Also, if I was to just use the ported heads, mild cam, upper/lower intakes, throttlebody, would my stock harness and injectors still work or would I need #24?

The Lightning PCM is still speed density, for 19lb injectors. With a mild cam and ported E7 heads, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator may be all you need with speed density. If you go with larger injectors, it will need tuning to pass emissions; with mass air or speed density.

You can pull a valve cover off and look through the head, along the pushrods, to see if you already have roller cam hardware; dog bones and spider. If you don't then converting is inexpensive with a spider, dog bones and roller lifters from any rollerized 302. Look above the starter to see of you have an F4TE 5.8 block, which will easily accept that roller hardware.
