STOLEN TRUCK IN WA....
The truck was stolen sometime between 22Dec and 11Jan, most likely somewhere around 8-10Jan from my house in Seabeck WA (central kitsap).
Truck is an 85 F250 4x4 regular cab 6.9, vin 1FTHF2613FPA54387. As of the theft is had blue & yellow CA plates, lic 2K30887 with Dec 2016 tags, however I had just registered the truck in WA and the WA plates were in the cab so it's possible they put those plates on. I do not have the WA plate number.
IF SEEN CONTACT AUTHORITYS.
no mine posting for a friend.

I'm kind of surprised someone would steal one of these. They aren't exactly worth a lot of money, or valuable to someone who isn't an IDI-head, so it's not like it would go to a chop-shop for parts...
Sure, it has a turbo and intercooler(it looks like), but how many know what that is?
Plus, I'm guessing it has a manual(I *think* I see a clutch master cylinder)... how many young thieves actually know how to drive one?
I'd suspect someone who already knows about the truck, unless someone happened to have an extra registration for one of those trucks handy and just decided to steal one and 'vin-swap' it...

They probably needed it so they could go steal a motorcycle or something big and throw it in the back. My 92 got broken into at 2:00 am a couple weeks ago and they couldn't start it (battery disconnect switch) the cops said they like to steel these trucks to haul stolen goods. They are easy to get into and they're inconspicuous

someone stealing mail is bound to get caught pretty quick i would think ..
and get some high time in jail for it too i bet ..
and that's probably true about hauling off a motorcycle or a big heist .. good getaway vehicle ..
and though i have never had too .. i understand the ignition isn't to hard to jigger to get it started ..
good idea to put a disconnect in there .. i have been thinking of adding some shut off switch myself and this might be just the wake up call i need to actually install one ..
though i have thought about it .. and since i have no glo plugs if someone tried to start it cold in the winter it'd never go .. because they would be unlikely to find the ether start .. but then still it would be a dead battery .. but theft can happen anywhere even in town at a parking lot with it already warmed up by the hand of some tweeker and his pair of needle nose pliers ..
