Holy ****** that looks cool. More pics please. Who's doing the work? What is involved in a wrap? Does it come off eventually sorta like plasti dip?

That looks good. I've been considering a wrap but don't know due to the price. How much did yours run?

Local shop here in Louisiana that does most of my paint and body work. It is his first wrap of a vehicle this big. He has done some parts of high-end show cars and carbon fiber wrap on a Ducati bike. They have been wrapping high end cars in Europe for years as both a quick color change and also to protect the original paint from chips, etc. Clean removal guaranteed depending on the material, some materials have 5 year clean removal guarantee. Check out www.cheetahwrap.com. I will post some more pictures when they get it out in the sun. Should be finished this week, but need to paint the grill, bumpers and decide whether to wrap the door jams in flat black or same material.

Looks like the brushed finish on a DeLorean, this color is 3M "brushed black Metallic", but looks like gunmetal. When i drove up today, there was a crowd of spectators watching him wrap and wanting to get in line to get their trucks done.

I am not sure, this shop does all of my work and since this is his first vehicle, told him let me know how much when he is finished. Basically, he is always fair on his prices and knows that I prefer quality over saving a few $$$. So considering that there may be some material waste, but fewer seams, etc., I didn't require a quote.

Let me know. I've heard of places asking $5,000 for a wrap of this size.

I know a guy that owns a shop that viynl wraps by me. this would easily be 4-5k job. I was looking at having my 2010 genesis coupe done that exact color and it was around 1500 for material if I remember correctly. the wrap looks awesome on the X keep the photos coming

WOW that looks good. I'd be interested in a ballpark figure of what that cost.

That 3M Brushed Black Metallic sells for $1080 for a 60" x 25 yard roll. The Excursion would use 20+ yards. Add a couple hundred for supplies and that is a ballpark of materials cost. Around my area, $4k to $5K would be ballpark for the whole job, but I have heard of people charging up to $10K.

Like greg807 said, it looks like a brushed Delorean, but much easier to clean. It was impossible keeping fingerprints off my Delorean, but these wraps are real easy to clean and look great. I am a fan of vinyl wraps, and they protect the paint finish too.

I forgot, be careful when you are refueling. We did a wrap on a friends 7.3. He was always letting the diesel spill over a bit when refueling. The lift started bubbling and wrinkling below the fuel door. You should have a rag handy to wipe it off immediately, just in case.

Thanks for the heads up on the fuel drips. I am normally cautious, but I will be extra cautious and have rags available. I noticed the Avery product is about 20% less and has a better estimated life, my shop was told by the distributor rep that the quality and application was the same. Didn't want to risk it, I've always had good luck with 3M. Thinking of doing my F-250 to match. The EX is from the South and only had 43k miles when I bought it, now has 75k and has been problem free, so I don't mind spending the money on the wrap.

I use the Avery because of the longer life estimate. I have been told that the 3M is easier to apply, but I really like the Avery. Now, I have never done a complete vehicle wrap. My skill level is not there yet, but I am working up to it. The vinyl wrap does not have to be an entire vehicle as it works really good for 2-tones and designs. I did my Excursion with Avery and it was under $100. Notice I kept the Vinyl above the fuel door spill zone so I don't have to worry about that.
