Auxiliary Gas tank
#16
I would go with gasoline safety can and cable with lock to prevent it from walking off. it would be easier to handle a can to refuel the generator than try to get gas out of the tanks similar to the Titan in bed tank.
I carry a safety can with me on trips for my generator. You can see the top of the can in the photos.

Saddle Tanks???
I am not sure if I imagined this but I seem to remember from way back that larger, long box pickups could come with (2) Gas tanks both located underneath in the same spot on either side of the box - each had it's own fill tube and both were connected to the fuel system with a cross connect valve that allowed you to switch from one tank to the other from the cab.
Does anybody else remember this or is it even possible as a mod?
Thanks

On the E series there was a side tank, usually, 18-25 gallon, and then a rear tank up to about 30 gallons available. Gas stations loved when i pulled in for a fill up. On the F Series I know they too had the side tank for the front, but i cannot remember where the second tank was.
I do recall that my 83 E350 had a total capacity of 50+ gallons. The others were in the mid 40's range.
Someone has to make a kit. But, then again liability with gasoline or other regulations may prevent these from being reproduced in the aftermarket.
EDIT: Titan does make spare tire fuel kits for Deisels... https://titanfueltanks.com/shop/tita...-ford-4020208/

Also, just found this site, listing tanks (at a more reasonable cost) that are DOT certified for Gas.
DOT Certified Fuel Transfer Tanks for Gasoline & Diesel - John M. Ellsworth Co., Inc.

Why not buy the diesel tanks and then plumb them for gasoline use. the plastic will not be effected. It will be a greater expense but modifying a vehicle is most often more expensive than just leaving it alone, although I have noticed there are a large amount of cheap *******s on this site( not intended to any - one specific person. it is what it is.
