Small offset transfer case

I am working on a custom 4x4 project and need a transfer case. It doesn't have to be anything really special, it's a pretty light truck so it won't be tearing stuff up, but due to a narrow frame I'd like to keep a minimal offset. I am leaning towards use a 205 case, but I'd prefer something a bit lighter.
Any suggestions?

I'd like to stick with something with a 31spline input, which limits me to full size Ford from about 78 to current.

The 205 is about your only option. The front output moved 4" outboard in 1980.
