Question Extended warranty options and expeiances

Back in 2005 I proudly bought an F-350 King Ranch and was quite happy with it until I wasn't. I didn't have the extended warranty and about $8k later I was back on the road. Now in 2017 I am ready to retire and jumping back in with an F-450 on order. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge from my old 6.0L days but the new trucks still have great potential to cause a dent in the pocketbook. Back then I was told to put the money I would have spent on the warranty in the bank and be ready to use it when needed. I am curious as to the price of the extended warranty these days on a $75k truck.
I thought I would be able to search and find many threads on the subject but I came up empty. If this has already been beat to death could someone put a link to a good tread on this subject. I always get hit cold a the end of the deal as to how much the package costs and I want to be ready. I am still 8 weeks or so out from predicted delivery time.
Thank you much.

If you live in the ( US ) from what I have read on this site, flood or Ziegler ford dealerships are the best bet for a ford extended service plan

Check out flood ford and Zeigler ford for extended warranty as long as you aren't in Florida. You can see prices there. You have until 3yr/36000 miles is about up to purchase and right now it goes up by $100 of you wait.

I have a friend that works at a Ford dealership that sells the ESP warranties at $100 over cost. Its a good deal for the bumper to bumper Ford factory warranty. He will finance it through Ford for you for 10% down and the balance broke up into 17 equal payments, and no interest. If you're interested send me a PM and I'll give you his contact info.
Here's the breakdown on cost for a Factory ESP with a $100 deductible and first day rental. This warranty includes "lighting" which is new, as the repair on the LED lights can be expensive.
6yr./100,000 mile $1760
7/100 $1955
8/100 $2235
6/125,000 $2335
7/125 $2775
8/125 $3175
When I closed the deal on my truck I asked how much the 8/125 warranty would cost me. (that's the one I got) The dealer wanted $5175 for the same warranty.

I don't have any affiliation with the dealership. It was such a sweet deal for me on my last truck (2014) that I called him again for the new 2017 F350. These prices cover all Super Duties, gas or diesel up to the F450 pickups. You have 12 months or 12,000 miles after you purchase your truck to buy the warranty at the same price as if you bought it at the time of purchase.

Extended Warranty

My dealer offered two plans- Ford's, and Carefree Car Protection. Based solely on their recommendation, I went with the Carefree option. I was able to negotiate it to $3275, from about $4400, including tax.

Terms are $0 deductible, 6 years/120000 miles.

Supposedly, I can go to any facility, including Pep Boys, as long as they have certified (sorry, don't have the info with me right now) mechanics. I was originally planning to go with the Ford plan, but can still get it if I find out anything contrary.

Over the years, I have come to believe that for vehicles, a plan offers peace of mind, so for me, is worth the expense.

Hope this helps!

2017 F-350 Lariat diesel dually, CC, long bed, 970 miles so far and lovin' it.

Mine offered 2 plans, Diesel Care and Diesel Care Plus.. $250 difference between them. The Plus was 2800 for 84 months/200K miles. Covered all the big stuff, and it was a Ford Plan (not a 3rd party)

I got the plan from Champion Ford for less than Ziegler (~$160 less). I then had an upcharge from Ford for $250 because the truck was titled in the name of the trust my wife and I have. 8yr/125k warranty.

Everything is already covered under the basic 3yr/36K. I will wait until just before this ends to make my decision. If it costs me an extra $100 or so by waiting to purchase, then so be it. But, I will have 3 years (or 36K miles of driving) to assess the reliability and any maintenance issues these newly designed vehicles may encounter. My thought is that I will be able to make more informed decision on the risk vs. reward at that point.

Champion (www.championfordwarranty) was cheaper for us than both Ziegler and Flood. 8 yr/150k $200 deductible for $3,630.

I live in WA state. I priced at champion Ford online then twisted my dealers arm. $3,150 for the 8 year 125k mile top plan, I included the $125 rider that covers all the LED lights, its an add on.
