Need 4.6 Guru Please help
Hello all,
I have a 95 4.6 that needs replacing BUT it isn't in a truck. It is in my Crown Vic. I have found a 96 and a 93. The book says I need a 95 only. My Ford parts man has been very helpful but we still have some doubts. The 93 has different Exhaust manifolds and the 96 has a different timing chain cover. PLEASE HELP. I have to get my car back on the road so I can work on my 57F100.

This article is geared toward rebuilding the various 4.6l engines. Not sure if it will help but it does have alot of info on the many iterations of the 4.6l.
Looks like you need the F4VE block (Romeo). "These blocks can be recognized by the hollow dowels that were used along with the AODE (automatic overdrive electronic) transmission and the semi-circular boss for the starter that was added on the right side of the bell housing."
