Got a tired and divorced NP435. But I have a recently rebuilt NP435 and 205 which are married. Want to keep the divorced set up.
Can the now-married NP435 be adapted to use in the divorced configuration??
Please say, "yes," and mean it, and if so how to do it if you know.

Nope, 2 different styles of 435 and 205 set ups.

 

The divorced 435 uses a different output bolt pattern on the transmission case (trapezoid 4 bolt pattern vs square 4 boot pattern for the married trans). The divorced transmission is just a 2wd trans. The married transmission also uses a 31 spline output shaft vs the 28 spline 2wd output shaft.

If the married trans is really that good the guts can be swapped over to the 2wd trans and you then just keep the output shaft of the 2wd trans. This is probably not worth the effort cause you might as well just rebuild the divorced transmission at that point.
