Good Evening New Jersey

Enjoy the beautiful unseasonable weather. it has been really nice out the last couple of a days.

In other news my wife and I purchased a new car. While the Explorer was in the shop for repairs, she had a Hyundai Sonata for a rental over the past weekend for an event she needed to be at for our child. She liked it. I gave it a thumbs up as well after riding in it and doing some research. On Monday we took a ride over to the local dealership to look at a more loaded model. The rental was a base model. She test drove a Hybrid since they had one on the lot. The floor manager tossed out a really solid number before we left. It was a 2016 demo with 2400 miles on the clock.

My wife and I headed on home. All she talked about was how nice the car was and how well it drove. She loved all the bells and whistles. IOW, she really liked the car and wanted to make sure we were really get a great deal. My wife did some more research while I looked at a few other reviews. She said go back to the dealer and take the car for a spin. I went back down to take the car out and brought it home. She wanted to make sure the car could really handle everything in the trunk. It did. I called my parents to watch over our child while we handled the dealer stuff. Within a couple of hours, she handle her new car. Sonata Hybrid with ultimate tech package. Basically a fully loaded car and hybrid for under 28K OTD. Of course she has been reporting the MPG in the 39 range for her commute. I like it since I can fit in a mid size car as the interior is huge. Front and rear seats are very roomy for my tall frame. Plus the other neat thing, I can make some front end wheel spin for a hybrid.

Interesting enough, we thought about the Fusion but I drove one for work and was not really impressed and I was not a fan of the current styling ( MY 2013-16). I really like the 2010-12 model year styling. We were going to look at other vehicles as well but this offer literally fell into out lap. Luckily I was able to put something together for a down payment. My wife and I were planning on buying next month. However, the dealer price was below a comparable selling price of the car. A really good price for a car my wife really liked. In other words, a very happy wife is working into a really happy life for me.

Don't worry guys the truck is still around. Paid for and does a certain job around the home. Like the car, it's not going anywhere for a long time.

new cars are always good no matter what brand they are.

at least until the "new car smell" wears off.

Good Morning NJ.

Tom, the new car smells wears off after the first payment or plates. Which ever comes first. If my wife and I were able to wait until next month and maybe the following, we would have had a much larger down payment. Even possible buy outright if the cards fell right. The wife and I both agree we don't want a car payment for more than 6 to 12 months. So we are looking into a few other options to pay off faster. IF not, at least I fought for a really nice interest rate so to carry a car loan for more than 12 months is not horrible and tolerable.

Steve, Thanks! Yes happy wife happy life is a really not a myth.

Morning Fordman, congrats on the new ride! Payments is the one thing that sucks about a new vehicle. Haven't had one on the truck for quite a while, it's been nice!
