Good evening guys.

I know one thing that would fix it permanently Tom. Get rid of it.

Yeah, but then we'd need to ask for another $12K of your tax dollars to get another van fitted with a wheelchair lift. I'm sure you guys would rather we didn't.

Happy Thursday everybody.

Hope this is it for you Tom, you've been through a lot already with that van.

Good morning everyone!

2° out this morning, and I have the van this morning. Wonder if it'll start?

A bit nervous about leaving on Saturday. I'll be gone for three weeks, and it looks like Hannah is going to need surgery. Spoke with the neurosurgery PA last night, and this one is a bit riskier than some of what she's had before because the syrinx is in her brain stem, a part of the brain that doesn't heal when injured. Hope to hear from the neurosurgeon today or tomorrow to get a better idea, I hope this can wait until I return.

Good morning guys...
Tom - Glad to hear about the van!
Would Hannah be a candidate for CyberKnife treatment? They worked on me using this...

I don't think so. There is the option to aspirate the syrinx using a needle, but that only has about a 10% chance of success from what I'm told. The fix involves installing a shunt into the pocket of fluid so that it continually drains, which prevents it from forming again.

Ahh... I should have known that it would involve a stint or shunt... CyberKnife only works to neutralize trouble spots.. No physical surgery.
Will be keeping Hannah and her Doctors in my prayers...

Good morning fellas!

Sick kid duty day two, well three if you count Des stayed home yesterday. She is on antibiotics and looks and feels better. I could have sent her to school but her temp was still 100 this morning. Now that she is on meds I'm thinking tomorrow she should be good to go back to school. Had Dive training yesterday at St. John's pool. Did a lot of refresher stuff, mask removal and put back on, gear removal and put back on (surface and on bottom), rope entanglement, etc., etc. was good to run back over the basics as you tend to develope bad habits. Next dive is an ice dive, burrrrrrr!

Good evening everyone. Had to do an unexpected drive to Columbia, SC today. So I didn't spend much time at work. 3 hours each way...

Evening Dave! Sounds about like my day. Drove three hours north up by Thief River Falls and back on a service call. Fun times!
