I actually had the same exact question, Darrin. Clay was on the other line but should call me back when he is off.
They physically look the same, but they have different part numbers. That might be why the 97 sensor I have in now is throwing a code, and the original might have been bad this whole time and the PO took the CEL bulb out....

+1; that ^^^^ reading is high. I guess it depends on how much beyond the _engine_ got swapped. If the OP is using the original PCM, he'd be best to use the original sensors and outputs controlled by the PCM. If the EBPS in service now is the one that was on the donor engine, that would be the first thing I'd swap back to the original.

Ok, I talked to clay. He said that with the 97 pcm and engine harness, I should use the 97 style sensor, which is in there now. Since it's still throwing a cel, I will have to assume that it's faulty and I will be replacing it.
It's interesting to me that people can run pcms from 97 (eg. A naw6) in a 1995 model truck with the earlier style sensor and not have problems??? Clay mentioned the plug was different, so maybe that is what would cause you to not be able to use the early sensor in a late application.... I don't know. Hopefully the new sensor fixes this mess.

That is strange. The light would drive me crazy though. Maybe try cleaning the connector with electronic parts cleaner and check connector otherwise the sensor would be next id guess. Did you say you had the EBPV bypassed? Maybe its trying to test it and isnt seeing the pressure build up at the EBPV it should be on start up when it tests it. I havent deleted mine yet so i am not sure what happens when you do
