Question 2009 f250 fuel fill problem?

When I go to put fuel in my truck. It keeps clicking off? I have to slightly hold the trigger to put gas in it. Can any one please help me fix the problem. ? I have tried to get the vent hose to the tank filler off, but what is the trick to getting the hose off there??

I don't know if your issue is the same, but we had this exact issue on our Explorer. Turns out a spider had made a nest in the fuel filler vent tube so it was blocked and wouldn't allow the correct air flow. The dealer fixed the issue for 80 bucks i believe.

Look underneath in the area of the fuel filling port tube. Look for a vent tube that's probably just clogged.
Just realized you only asked how to get the line off, ha sorry.

This was an issue for a lot of 05-08 trucks and there was TSB out for it.

Couple options in this thread.

I had the same problem in my 2013. It was the evap canister vent tube. In mine I drop the spare. remove vent tube where it connected to evap and truck bed rail. blew it out. Also ran hose water through bed rail(WAS FILLED WITH DIRT). put it back together and never had another problem

Wish I was that handy! I went to Ford and $900 later I have a new can and hoses / vent. But no fill issues and I feel better about myself! BUT I'm really POOR!!!!!
