Help no start

So I have no oil pressure on the gauge when cranking. Icp has oil on the wire connector but it does not start when unplugged. Hpop is full about 1/4 inch from the top maybe half inch. New injectors and resealed fuel bowl recently.

She cranks and does not start glow plugs work block heater is plugged in batteries full but it does turn slowly.

When I would start it after new injectors it would still stumble a bit till warm maybe 3 minutes. The last few starts have taken longer.

No cel will borrow a scanner to put on it then.

No fuel pressure in the bowl after cranking tonight so I'm leaning towards gelled fuel as this no start happened as it dropped below 30. I'll pull the filter and see what's going on when I can.

Any help here I'm a bit lost?

Straight #2 diesel should be good down to 0 to 10 degrees F, with no antigel in it. You need to check fuel pressure while cranking the engine. Maybe the fuel pump gave up the ghost.

Thanks that's going to go on the list. I know it has a mechanical pump for the bowl but didn't know if it would hold pressure or not

test fuel pressure while cranking, it bleeds off fast

No oil pressure is from no oil in the heads
takes a while to crank, I did mine with GPs out for a few cycles so starter wouldn't take a beating

If slow cranking maybe you have a poor battery connection like I did

The hpop is full so there should be oil in the heads. It has to be a sensor I think because how sudden it is. Anyone have a list of sensors that can cause these truck to no start?

ill double check the connections. But with the old batteries it would spin slower but we may have a combination of things

Is there any tailpipe smoke from the exhaust? If not I'd say fuel pump. Mine gave up a couple of years ago, she just died while driving. There is a tutorial in how to replace the mechanical fuel pump online, I just don't remember where, lol. I used this tutorial it's very easy to follow. The location just makes the job a tough one. Good luck.

Following the no start chart I posted above to get it running.

If you just replaced injectors its going to take a lot of cranking to get it running from al the air in the heads, about a quart of oil needs to go there. once you stop cranking, it will gurgle as the air pushes out.

a slow cranking starter and weak batteries wont make it easy

I wasn't paying attention to the tach but it did before but sometime it would not move then come to life and fire right up any tests for this cam sensor I've heard about

that sensor is cheap enough to keep one as a spare with a 10 mm wrench and get a pigtail too, some times the wires get worn through

buy here

I know it's cheap. So no tach bad sensor that's the test. I have about 200 to fix it this week cause I have an axle for the other truck lined up right now. I'll try to check some tomorrow am and see if the tach moves and maybe get some to crank it while I check fuel.

I just had a crank no start that ended up being the IPR, on back of the HPOP. No test that I was able to find for it but the 'sensor' was stuck/corroded to the valve on mine. Found some good info here: http://www.gbreman.com/articles/

I'll plan to pull the ipr this weekend if I can. Or put it on the list for the cost of the o rings it's worth doing anyway. You can test ipr with a scanner by checking the injector pressures however I don't have access to a scanner buddy got rid of his
