Dry rocker on 351C-2V

History: Bought from PO with tick on driver side. Found .050 slop in number 5 exhaust valve rocker. It looked like the pushrod had eaten into the rocker arm. The rocker appeared to be oiling normally. I replaced the number 5 exhaust rocker, fulcrum, and pushrod with number 5 intake valve parts and replaced the intake parts with new. Fast forward a few weeks and I began to get a squeal from the number 5 rocker. I removed the valve cover to find this. What gives?

Motor has 45K since new. Heads and timing chain have been replaced by PO 2K miles ago. Thanks in advance.

First, what's your oil pressure like.....have a mechanical gauge or the stock one?

Second, #5 int/exh are the last ones to get oiled through the galley..could be some blockage after #6 exhaust.....could be....

What to try: With the left valve cover still off, fire her up and shine a flashlight - at an angle - down #5 intake and over to #5 exhaust. You're looking to see if the lifters are moving in a circular fashion and if oil is circulating around 'em.

Let us know what you find?

Okay, so I just noted that I had replied to this question on a completely different forum. Gonna be some folks over at YT scratching their heads. May as well cut and paste.

Hot idle oil pressure is down. I was about to install real gauges when I decided to pull the valve cover. I had just finished changing the trans oil and setting the final ATF level when the noise got the best of me. The stock gauge shows around 40+ psi pressure when cold and drops as the oil warms up and tolerances expand. This particular rocker shows no oil at all.

Another thing to try if the lifters are spinning and there's plenty of oil around 'em:
Clean/blow out the pushrod oil holes....mebbe some snot got in there and plugged the holes.
