seat swap

I'm new to this forum and have searched but want help confirming my answer, be gentle with me..I have the bench seat in my 97 F350 7.3L Crew Cab (supercab) and want to swap out for buckets. I don't think there is a bolt on option, mods would be needed for any seats I find. Options w/out mods are limited...Correct?

seat swap

Step son just totaled his 2000 Super Duty/F250 diesel which has the Lariat package. Nice leather seats w/ console in the middle. Anything is better than this long plastic bench seat. While searching that swap I realize options are limited w/out fabrication. Now I'm bitten by the bug and want to find what will work w/out fabbing.

I know they made captains chairs with this body style because there are a few obs fords on craigslist for sale right now in my area that have them. My buddy also found a set in something for his bronco. Not sure what is required to swap over to them when you had the other seat style, but I imagine since they made captains chairs with this body style, modification wouldn't be very extravagant if any.

That being said, where are you located? I need a new split front bench seat for my 97 f250 with the fold down center console. I personally prefer this seat style over captains chairs, and my driver seat is so badly worn, there is an impression of a person's body imprinted in the seat. It took some getting used to when I bought it, but it sits lower because of it too.

My truck is a '95 F250 XLT extended cab. It had the 40/20/40 split seat in the front with the fold down console/3rd seat. The drivers seat and the passengers seat each have 4 bolts (8 total) going into the floorboard. The center seat section gets bolted in by the other seat bolts.

I put a set of bucket seats with the separate larger center console in it from a Bronco. Seats bolted right in but the console I had to drill new holes. I don't seem to have pictures of the install.

My daughter had a '93 F150 XL (basic work truck) extended cab. It had the long bench seat that had the back that was separated in the middle. It had a lever on the top of each back side so that the back half of the seat would fold forward to let people in the rear seat. The seat pan for her truck only had 4 bolts for the whole bench seat and the holes and mounting bolt locations to upgrade to captain seats were not in her floorboard.

Others have done the seat upgrade and even put super duty seats in the OBS, but they had to fab some brackets and do some welding.

I am sure others will chime in and tell you how they did it.

My obs XLT package came with bench seats and only had four mounting holes I installed 40-20-40 seats from an extended cab and had to add the extra holes and did a sloppy job wich im not proud of but worked im planning on fixing it and cut and weld them right this time.

Well if you decide to do some fabbing, it is not hard and there is little to do. I have a thread on it somewhere here.

The sd crew cab rear seats with a frame bolt directly in the front just drilling 4 holes. I just got a nice set of Harley Davidson rear captain seats with console from an 04. I just had to drill 4 holes to put it in the front of my 96 f350. I added pictures to the other seat thread here but here's a couple. I did replace the headliner to black vinyl to match too

Ok, cool. I have husky liners in my truck and they look cheaper than those. It looks like they fit pretty well too. Thank you.
