Squeaky brakes
Are the brakes on a 16 the same they have been using for a while? Reason is mine are very squeaky especially in reverse. I have had 6 f150's from 2010- now and a super duty and no problems! My wife's 16 navigator was squeaky right from the start they resurfaced and problem solved. They cleaned mine up on my truck around 3k but it's back again at 9k. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks

I asked my dealer to look at my Explorer as I thought the brake caliper was dragging. He looked at me like I was speaking Greek. A few months after that discussion, the car was back and held overnight for another issue. I told him to get the tech to back it up first thing in the morning and check for the squeal. They didn't and I dropped it after that. I've run out of fingers to count the problems I have with my local dealer, but that's one of them.
Good luck...report back if they find anything.

My 2016 is squeaking in the mornings when backing up seems to be coming from the left rear. Dose not seem to do it in drive or after the drive to work. Its getting very loud started it notice it at 2,000 miles now almost 4,000 and getting worst. Thinking maybe need to call the dealer but its a drive to get there.
Think of pulling the wheel and see if there is something there???

I don't think it's warm weather mine has been doing it Starting in January I live in Michigan, this morning I think the neighbors woke up to the sound. Two miles later at a stop sign I backed up, pull ahead and nothing. I have read many threads on the Internet about this issue and sad to say most fords owners say stupid things like "just back in at night so you don't need to use reverse in the morning" or "its normal" if it's normal show me in the requirements when these trucks were developed that the brakes need to squeak after sitting for greater than 12 hours.

There's lots of reasons why disk brakes squeak and squeal. Remember the days when you were lucky to get 30K on a set of pads if you did a lot of city driving? Now its easy to get 60K+ on a set. That design change has been driven by the fact that more people are leasing their vehicles and the manufacturers want them to get thru their lease without the expense of needing a brake job.
So, they make the pads a little bit bigger and a little bit harder. When you step on the brakes the pads heat up and outgas. That's one of the reasons high performance pads have grooves in them and high performance rotors are slotted or cross drilled. The pads can also absorb a bit of moisture when they sit overnight. The first couple of applications in the morning boil off this moisture. Think of it as brake pad farts.
If it really is a problem for you consider going over to an aftermarket high performance pad.

If they stop making noise after they've warmed up, it may just be surface rust that happens sometimes in wet weather. If they continue, then I would take a close look at the rotors to see if you're getting any big gouges in them or not. If things look mostly smooth with just minor imperfections, you're probably OK. If you're not sure, I'd take it in to the dealer.

In my case it nothing to do with them being warm, first time I back up very loud, If I pull forward and backup again not as loud then by the third time most of the noise is gone. I had a new '97, '01 and '07 none of these had this issue, it must be the material in the pads, maybe these new pads last a bit longer but if you need to deal with this noise I would much rather change pads a little more often. I talked to a co-worker today he has a 2016 with 20K miles and his has been doing the same thing since new so I don't see this changing over time.
Rotors look nice and smooth so it must be rust that occurs after sitting over night.

Only first thing in the morning, nothing to complain about.
IMHO I wouldn't resurface any modern rotors.
