Air conditioning hose leak

My 95 F250 truck has a hole in one of the A/C hoses. It is the hose that goes from the compressor to something behind the canister. It has a quick connect port on it. I was told this was the discharge hose. Is that true? Also do you know where I can get a new one or get one fabricated?

If you are looking at the front of the compressor the discharge hose would be coming out of the right hand port, another easy way to tell is to touch both hoses, the warmer hose is going to your condensor. Most ford a/c hoses are 1/2 inch (I think). But before you remove any of the hoses, hook an empty refrigerant bottle up to the service access port valve on the compressor and drain the system down so that you dont lose your refrigerant during the hose change...once the hose is changed you can start the compressor with the bottle hooked up, once it is empty close the valve and your back in service.

One compressor hose goes from the compressor to the accumulator/drier. The other hose on the compressor goes to the condenser.

For a new hose, check out http://www.ackits.com Fill out the vehicle info on the top of the page to see if they stock the part. I have bought from them, and am really pleased with their parts and service.

Autozone, plus many parts house can make custom hoses for you. Check your local yellow pages. Or the Ford dealership.

Air conditioning hose leak

I haven't found any parts houses that make A/C hoses in the Louisiana area especially Autozone. I need one for a Ford Aerostar.

Oreilly's does. In larger areas AZ and Oreillys makes them, NAPA may also.

Its a 95 you say, I just checked with Auto Zone they stock those or can get them in two days from the warehouse. in any larger city, Shreveport for instance you should be able to find a auto store that makes them.

If all else fails call your Ford dealer They can get them!!!
