Ok so I was crawling around the bottom of the truck looking for a place for my air compressors.
Found 2 of these "things" attached to the inside of the passenger side truck bed. This is the inside of the bed skin.
On the other side right by the fuel spouts were a few more.
Just curious, are any of these guesses correct? Bandaids? Patch panels? Panel Stiffners? Maxi-Pads?
And those bumps in them are stiff like there is something underneath them.

By the way, did you ever locate a suitable place for your compressors? I've been under the truck for other purposes but didn't really look for a place for a compressor. Is there enough room above the spare? There's lots of lines and looms on the frame rails of these new trucks where I mounted in the past.

I think I might go the lazy route and mount it under my toolbox with maybe the tank in the tool box.

"Nitto, Inc.’s Lakewood, NJ facility is a premier manufacturer of acoustic, structural and sealing materials for the automotive industry. Our lightweight structural products make cars run quieter by reducing road noise and improving fuel efficiencies."
Either that, or they are absorbent pads for when our transmission lines blow?

I mounted my wireless firestone F3 air compressor on a 1/4 inch 8x11 inch flat aluminum plate on the cross member behind the trans. On the left side of drive shaft. I used the 2 existing holes in the cross member and drilled 2 holes in the plate to fasten it to cross member with 1/2 in bolts and large flat washers. Then placed the components on the plate to mark the holes to fasten to, so to be on the outside of cross member so I could use bolts with nuts. Using this location it is between the frame and away from being splashed by dirt and water. The parts will be mounted upside down, talked to firestone and it does not matter what way they are mounted
