Are factory Dana 60's becoming hard to find?

Hello all, I've been considering a rear axle swap for my 84 f150 with a 4.9l 300 with an automatic, swapped from a c5 to a c6 transmission. Current 8.8 pumpkin with 3.08 ratio.
1: Are these Dana 60's hard to find. I came across this one in a 70 f250, pick and pull in Alabama. I live in NC. Do I need to drag this axle home with me now?
2: anybody know if this is a viable swap behind a 300? The tags are missing so I do to know the ratio but I'm assuming that the Dana is taller then 3.08.
Thanks

You don't want it as it has 16 spline axles. A 10.25 is better as you don't have to move spring pads due to differing frame widths. Are you changing the front to 8-lug also? Or are you looking for a very rare 5-lug 60-3 semi-floater?

A rear dana 60 would be an odd choice, given how readily available 10.25" axles are and the fact they'll bolt right into place.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I found one in a pick and pull yard and was really just curious. If they were becoming hard to find I was going to grab it to save it from being turned into Chinese steel.
