What does this go to?

I'm new to FTE and just purchased my second Powerstroke. I had a 05 6.0 but bought this 2011 6.7 a month ago. This little box is screwed under my dash and I'm not sure what it goes to. Is any one familiar?

That's aftermarket for sure.
Is it just a button? Chase the wire. Could be a switch for just about anything.

Does truck have an aftermarket radio in it?

Appears to me to be a microphone for a radio that might allow you to enter commands for nav or dialing or etc.

the button probably activates the funtion.

Thanks for responding, I was hoping to not have to trace the wire and someone might know. The truck has the stock radio so I have no idea what the button would do. I'm to afraid to press it.

Unscrew the button and look on the back side of it to see if it has an identifying name on it.

It's a dealer installed KARR alarm.

The dealer version of those kits has that little piece. The top part is where the "activation chip" pops in.

Based on the chip, it looks like it's not activated. You can leave it in there, but I'd check the wiring if I were you. Some installs on those kits are less than stellar.

Yep, crappy dealer installed alarm control, after looking it up it seems more like a scam for them to upsell. Guess I'll remove it some day when I have time.
