Help! 87 F-150

Hey everyone new here to this page!
Just picked up a 1987 F-150 4.9L 2wd for me to use as a daily.
Got the truck running great, until i installed a new single din radio.
My problems are now needing a jump box to start the truck. (has a new battery)
- check engine light flashes from time to time
- emission light comes on from time to time as well
i took out the entire single din and harness and still having the same issues.
not sure where to start really.
any help would be great new to Fords here.

Hi,
You might of burnt the diodes out in your 65 amp Alternator???

You need to do the 130 G3 Altenator upgrade anyway, just something to look into?

I was burning my 65 amp alt ,with my amped stereo!

That truck is actually easy to work on and the 4.9L engine is bullet proof!!!
