The cab of my 49 has always sat high on the drivers' side. I had forgotten about it until I had it reassembled with all new rubber and parts. And it still sits high, about 1/2", as measured between the lower front fender and top of the frame directly behind the bumper.

I have been told that they came from the factory that way and it was to compensate for the imbalance of just having a driver and no passenger.

Can anyone confirm or deny? I know my cab does not want to site straight, I was to the point of thinking that the frame might be bent and I failed to notice all this time.

 

I think your frame is bent. My 49 cab sits perfectly level. Is it possible that the cab mount is bent out of the correct position?

 

Pictures would help. Otherwise we are just guessing.
