Engine transport?

Moving an engine tomorrow. Anything besides putting a tire under it and strapping it down behind the cab I need to be aware of?

Thanks

Built 460 used. Plan on sprucing it up a bit though just for the fun of it.

Don't suppose there is much to be done about the paint scratching off at the contact points on a tire. Got about 60 miles to go with it.

Don't have any pics, but I usually build a crate out of 2x8 and 2x4 so the oil pan just fits inside. The balancer sits just above one of the 2x4's. The weight of the engine is on the block and the pan bolts. Then just strap it down......Hope that makes sense.

That's a good idea. Decided to do it on Sunday, should have some time to find measurements for a 460 pan and build that tomorrow.

I don't bother running it up to the cab. It's a lot easier to grab at the back, and won't move even in a panic stop if it is properly strapped.

Throw it in a tire, strap it down four ways and move it.
