High Cap Trailer Tow F250

Does the High Cap tow package on an F250 give the truck the same leaf springs as an f350 srw? The F250 doesn't seem to have enough leafs for my intended use. The following doesn't mention it but I'm hoping so. Any one know?

The Trailer Tow Package - High Capacity is optional on all F-250 models. Package includes:
• Increase GCW on diesel engine from 23,500 lbs. to 25,700 lbs.
• Max Front Springs
• Upgraded axle
• 20” Chrome PVD Aluminum wheels – LARIAT and King Ranch® only
• 20” Polished Aluminum wheels – Platinum only

Package requires 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel engine.

Doesn't have enough leafs? Have you loaded the truck and had a problem? How much weight are you going to be carrying?

Every Freightliner and Kenworth tractor I've driven had two leafs on the front axle. Those two leafs supported 12,000 lbs. The number of leafs matters very little.

The two leafs seem like it would squat too much. Have a gooseneck with miller bobcat and water tank on the neck. Also sometimes put a round bale up there on my ranch trailer (yea not ideal but i tow this on my ranch only). I put a lot of odd heavy stuff up there when i run out of trailer space on the ranch, have even had a ranger on my buddies gooseneck. Granted i will be using one of my work trucks to do all this, i need the ability to move this type of equipment when my guys and trucks may not be around.

Back to the original question will i be getting the same leafs as a 350 srw?

By an F350. Get the extra heavy service front springs and the max tow, including the camper overload springs, and then you get the rear sway bar. The axle and most other parts are the same, but the spring ratings and capacities are what's different. I can send you pics of my spring packs, for the difference in price I think the F359 is better for your heavy use. By the time you pay for the package above, you might as well.

Why are you even considering the f250 HD over the f350? Price is nearly identical and the f350 will have higher ratings all around.

Page 59 on the truck guide. According to that my F-350 srw is only getting f-250 rear leafs because I ordered 17" wheels. I didn't want to pay for 18's because I want some method wheels. That sucks!

Why even mess around with it? Just get the F350SRW with 11,500gvwr and be done with it. An F250 is nothing more than a de-rated F350SRW no matter how you slice it.

Bottom line is maybe I should have gotten a 350. But I hardly use my truck for any work as I have several duallies for my business, and can use one if i need to move something crazy. I ordered 12/23 and just received my vin, so too late to change now. And my truck is not one ill find on a lot so it would be too long if i had to re order. Oh well, if I'm too scared to tow it in my 250, a 350 srw probably wouldn't help my situation. My dodges are slt's so i just needed a nicer truck to meet with and drive clients around job sites. Only reason i got a truck was just for the "emergency" when i may need to move a piece of equipment..... Either way, yes i should have gotten a 350.

I wouldn't worry about it honestly. The F250 will pull and stop anything that an F350srw will pull, it's just the ratings are lower and it won't handle the weight as well as an F350.

The payload sticker is located in the drivers side door jam.

After a bit of reading, I'm thinking that the only way to get the 350 leafs on the 250 is to get the camper package which i didn't get. The difference between the 250 and 250 was like 1100, i guess ill donate that to air bags and onboard air. Anyone have experience with firestone bags?

The SRW 350's springs are of a higher rate than the HD 250's. You can't, in any configuration, get the 350 springs on a 250.

According to the builder guide my f-350 with 17" wheels will have 250 springs.
