I have a 95 Ranger with the 4.0 and 5 speed transmission. Will the 302 from a 89 e150 can work with my transmission? Will it bolt up? What all is involved.

The 302 will not work with or bolt up to your existing 5 speed. Those engines have different block to bell housing patterns. You can get any number of 5 speeds for a 302.

Are you 4x4 or 4x2?

"What all is involved"? That depends--total project or just transmission?

The 302 in Ranger has been done billions of times and a quick search will find 10s of thousands of magazine how-to articles.

FWIW if you going to use the '89 E150 302 in stock condition, you might as well stick with the 4.0.
