Check fuse #42 and see if it is blown. If the fuse is not blown then you need your cluster fixed or replaced.

I had this happen with My 06 F350 The problem is in the dash cluster itself the issue is the Accessory Relay/ Power Saver circuit. It is usually bad soldering joints that let this thing lose contact with the board. This is within the Instrument Cluster and cannot be repaired by a simple replacement part, it's buried in the circuit board of the Instrument Cluster.

You will more than likely find that it is easier to have it fixed rather than replaced, even a junkyard cluster is no guarantee the issue wont pop up again. One of the sponsors here Circuit Board Medics can fix your cluster, you just have to send it to them, they do the repairs and ship it right back to you.

I would start with the fuse, very easy to check. If it's blown put a new one and see if it blows after a while. If it isnt blown, then that is not the issue. Next thing I would do is take off the cover and look at the shift assembly wiring and make sure there is nothing broken or shorted out or pinched, if that looks good you next step would be the dash cluster, and that would mean pulling it out and either buying new ( which is very expensive ) or a junkyard one ( dont think I would trust that ) or sending it to be fixed.

It sucks, I went through this and sent my cluster away got it fixed and sent back, and no more problems after that. I think I spent about 180.00 including shipping and the turn around time was a few days
