Yesterday while getting gas after a car wash I was admiringly my truck and mud flaps and then I noticed a bunch of tiny pebbles between the mud flap and the truck. It made me sick. This weekend I'm taking them off, cleaning it out, reinstalling then running a fine bead of clear silicone to fill that gap.
I was going to say that some double sided 3M tape might be better. I've never had great luck with silicone in a place like that. It actually holds a layer of dirt and will look like crap in short order.

3M tape will work. However, I cinched mine down pretty tight. Put about a 100 miles on it, and haven't noticed any debris build up yet.
