Slow gas fill 2003 Ranger Edge

Recently bought a 2003 Ranger Edge with 101,000 miles. Step side. Having trouble filling up with gas. Replaced thehose from the filler neck to the tank (the one with a 90 degree bend) still no luck. It was collapsed.

Googled to no end, searched here, no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Mark

Try sticking the gas hose about half way in and only squeezing it to about half way,,,it will still be slow but faster than if you try it any other way,,,unless someone can tell you a better fix...

Thanks for that, I will give it a try! Is it a very common problem with this year? Or is it Rangers in general? I notice the step side ones have a different filler-neck, than others. I'm so baffled with this.

Turns out that it was my fuel pump! The vent tubes on the top for in and out were not operating properly, causing the no fueling problem. Probably a venting issue. Installed a AC-Delco fuel pump, trouble is gone, also start right up on first crank, which it wasn't doing prior. The old fuel pump was a Car-Quest, not sure how old it was, but I will stay away from that brand for sure.
