Flatbed questions

Dwayne,
I probably don't know the answer, but want to try to clarify your question. You are working on a design that you would like the OEM to offer as an option or get an OEM to make what you are designing as an aftermarket option? When you say "factory", I don't know if you mean the OEM or some aftermarket supplier.

I am making a designing an accessory for as many flatbeds as possible. The problem is I am trying to find a common flat bed design to go off of. Be each one has it own headache rack, sides and stuff. So I don't want to have to make it for each one. That could get expensive and inefficient.. most like having a mold for each flatbed. So is there a common size shape, company. I should go off of?

I'd be willing to bet that the people making flat beds in your area are probably different than mine. Trailers the same way.
Do you have DCT, PJ's, kieffer built, EBY, M&S, or vern's in your neck of the woods? I'd bet not, but those are the big ones around here.
Usually these types of things are all made regionally and differ from place to place. So what you are trying to accomplish might be obtainable for products in your area, but probably not on a national level.
Best bet is to check out the local dealers and see if they are common enough to accomplish what you need.
